A Sacred Space to Renew Your Soul.
Saint Clement’s Retreat House stands as a sacred refuge for all who long for spiritual rest, quiet reflection, and a deeper encounter with God. Nestled in the heart of La Paz, Iloilo City, it offers a serene space where one can step away from the noise of daily life and rediscover the peace that renews the spirit. For generations, it has welcomed individuals, parishes, and religious communities, becoming a cherished place where hearts are renewed, faith is strengthened, and lives are gently transformed.
Its story is deeply rooted in the Redemptorist mission in the Philippines. When the Redemptorists arrived in Iloilo in the early 20th century, they became known for their devoted pastoral ministry and their fervent promotion of the devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help. From this vibrant mission grew St. Clement’s Church and, eventually, the adjoining retreat house—established to meet the growing need for a dedicated space for prayer and spiritual renewal. Through the years, St. Clement’s has become more than a landmark; it is a sacred witness to countless personal journeys of healing, discernment, and rediscovery of faith.
Today, Saint Clement’s Retreat House continues its mission as a center for retreats, recollections, and formation programs. Surrounded by calming greenery and set just far enough from the city’s bustle, it provides an atmosphere of stillness that invites deep listening and contemplation. Its simple yet welcoming facilities include spaces for individual and group accommodations, a chapel for prayer and Eucharistic celebrations, meeting halls for formation, and peaceful grounds for silent reflection. Nearby stands the historic St. Clement’s Church, where the first Perpetual Novena in the Philippines was held—a living devotion that continues to inspire the faithful.
Faithful to the Redemptorist call to serve the spiritually hungry, the retreat house remains open especially to those from poorer communities and mission areas. Whether attending a short recollection, an extended silent retreat, or a formation seminar, visitors often leave not only refreshed but profoundly renewed in faith and purpose.
More than a place of silence, Saint Clement’s Retreat House is a space of encounter—with God, with one’s true self, and with others. In a fast-moving world, it remains a precious sanctuary where people can pause, listen to the voice of grace, and return to what truly matters.
