In a ceremonial event held at the Chapel of the Holy Redeemer Provincial Center Community in Cebu on September 17, 2026, the Redemptorist Province of Cebu and Metro Retail Stores Group signed a significant lease agreement. This new corporate center and commissary inside the Church compound (formerly MHAM) is aimed at enhancing the operational capabilities of the retail giant.

The contract signing was marked by a solemn Eucharistic celebration attended by confreres from both Cebu communities, including the Holy Redeemer Provincial Center and the St. Alphonsus Apostolic Formation Community. The gathering also welcomed other lay partners in mission, who joined in witnessing this momentous occasion.

The initiative, overseen by the Extraordinary Provincial Council, is part of the implementation of the 9th Chapter Directive. This directive emphasizes strengthening and developing the Province’s properties and patrimonies to further the Congregation’s mission.

Fr. Edilberto Cepe, the Provincial Superior, expressed his gratitude and optimism regarding the partnership, highlighting its potential benefits for the Province. Following the Mass and the contract signing, the Holy Redeemer community organized a simple lunch to celebrate the occasion with all attendees.
