Mission Collab 2026: EVRMT and RIMT Conclude 64-Day Mission with Easter Mass

The collaboration between the Eastern Visayas Redemptorist Mission Team (EVRMT) and the Redemptorist Itinerant Mission Team (RIMT) concluded with an Easter Mass at St. Bonaventure Parochial Church, Balangkayan, Eastern Samar, on April 5, 2026, marking the end of a 64-day mission.

On the eve of Easter, all 16 barangays of the parish held a large closing activity. Community members traveled together in a prayerful motorcade to the parish church, where Fr. Joey Trillo, CSsR, blessed the Mission Cross and families’ small crosses. The procession moved to the municipal grounds for the Easter Vigil, then continued inside the Civic Center for the Mass, presided by Fr. Cyril Caliba with Redemptorist Fathers concelebrating.

Before the said culminating event, the team joined and integrated with the people in the parish through various missionary activities. They gave basic catechetical instructions and sacraments (Mass, Reconciliation, anointing of the sick, baptism, First Communion, etc.). They also facilitated gatherings from different sectors (Men, Women, Youth, and Church leaders) of the area. Further, devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help (OMPH) was also enriched, if not introduced to all barangays.

The EVRMT was composed of Prescila Noveda, Colyn Tapic, and Fr. Julo Biliran, CSsR, the mission coordinator. Then, Minerva Dalde, Jeralyn Abad, Ramonalyn Balandray, Br. Rey Dian Sioco, CSsR, Br. Kriss Michael Tubog, CSsR, Fr. Cris CSsR, and Fr. Joey CSsR were from the RIMT. Then, two deacons from the Military Ordinariate of the Philippines (MOP), Rev. Ian Gabriel Ceblano and Rev. John Laurens Tupas, also joined the mission. Lastly, two students, Br. Roger Buot and Br. Aly Mai from Redemptorist Formation Community (RFC) completed the team for the mission collaboration.
